Have had a accu check meter for a while but the strips are costly can anyone recommend a meter with cheaper strips

The SD code free and the tee2 seem to be what people buy when they have to fund their own strips.

TEE2 is free, so a trial of it will cost you nothing
The company that sells the TEE2 also does the Caresense Dual, which is a new meter that can also measure Ketone levels too. Strips are less than £10 per 50, so although slightly higher than the SD Codefree, does provide flexibility.

Many SD users report that their meters tend to read higher than other meters on the market, and mine certainly comes in at about 0.8 mmol/l above my other meters. Means I must be careful about hypos when it shows less than 4.8. and not drive if below 5.8

Edit to Add: Both suppliers offer VAT Exempt prices direct to registered diabetics. and do not require you to apply for VAT Refund after making the sale. So the up front cost is cheaper than going through a pharmacy. There are promotion discount codes you can use with the SD strips if you bulk buy. Spirit do not have bulk purchase discounts.
