Hi All, this is my first post as only diagnosed this week with Type 2. Wow, how much to take in !!. I've been reading so much on the www as well as trying to make sense on how to implement this "lifestyle change" .
My question, I'm not able to see the specialist diabetes nurse until Oct 2nd so in the dark a bit but everything I read point to I should be testing at home. Any suggestions as to what to buy please. Many thanks

If you're extremely lucky, your GP or DN will give you a meter and test strips on prescription. These will be hidden in the saddle bags on the unicorn at the end of the rainbow.
The rest of us have to self fund. My meter of choice is the code free SD - got it on eBay for about twelve quid including lancets and ten test strips. Fifty extra strips cost the princely sum of a penny shy of seven quid (try pricing the strips for other meters!). It works okay and I can keep an eye on my levels while trying different foods.
