& @douglas99 goes to the top of the class***** for eating the right cracker which is far more healthy than the left & will keep you filled for longer as the GL is low for the right cracker which is a Ryvita as rightly stated, which will give a long steady gloucose feed & the left is a medium GL which will spike your gloucose more than the Ryvita & leave you feeling hungry sooner which is a cream cracker as rightly stated by douglas99.Depends what the carbs are.
If they're a low GI, or one I tolerate, the one on the right.
If also depends on what it is.
If the right is a larger, lighter food, and the left is a small dense food, again the right.
Which seems to be born out by the left being a cracker, which I rarely eat, and the right being a ryvita type crispbread perhaps, which I have for breakfast most days.
Check the difference in the fiber & fats in both yet the protein is almost the same.Hehe

This is why I follow the GL of foods over the carbs, cause there maybe more carbs in the right but they are the good healthy carbs unlike those in the left one. Plus you may find more quantity in 100grams of the right one. You can lose weight by following the portion size in GL but I need to maintain not lose weight so can eat that bit more without worrying about higher gloucose levels.
Happy now @Adrian207.hehe.
Chocolate coated peanuts are low GL, most would avoid them cause of the chocolate but the right portion size will do no harm.
PLEASE NOT I STARTED THIS THREAD JUST SHOW ABOUT FOLLOWING GL WHICH NEVER GETS A MENTION WHEN NEWBIES JOIN BUT SOMETHING THEY SHOULD BE INFORMED OF SO THEY CAN MAKE A CHOOSE ON WHICH PATH TO FOLLOW IN CONTROLLING THE DIABETES, YOUR STILL FOLLOWING LOW CARBS BUT ALSO EATING HEALTHIER THAN MAYBE JUST FOLLOWING LCHF.
SO NO ARGUING AS WE ALL HAVE AN OPINION.
THANK YOU.♥
Yes some may have further complications to deal with which have to be taken into a persons choice. It's a generalisation that has to be tailored to a persons own needs just as with LCHF has to.I couldn't eat any of these, even sprinkled with Jonny Depp or Brad Pitt, I would be very sick indeed
Seriously Paul, a very interesting article

It's just an example that following GL can give you a healthier choice in what you eat.Neither. Why waste carbs on these when you could eat something more tasty.

Interesting point on the metfomin as an ingredient. We'd be able to eat all sorts of chocy, "I wish". It's just to show others that may not know how it could be another way of controlling With still being able to eat things they thought they couldn't.IS THAT IT!!! I already knew all that
As for the chocolate peanuts thing..........................as I see it, Metformin helps reduce blood sugars, right, so what if the chocolate was made with Metformin as 1 of the ingredients. Wouldn't that cancel out the sugars produced by the chocolate. Then you could eat as many chocolate peanuts as you wanted.
Seriously though, a very good, interesting thread View attachment 10530 View attachment 10531
