Well done OP. Ingrid Bergman it is..

The 6 refers to the Inn of the 6th Happiness.

The rhyme is what the children chanted while walking.

Sixpence was the name of the baby orphan that Ingrid adopted.

Love this film and always have.....

Opal,,, Do you mind if I put a pic up??

I will leave it 15 minutes and go ahead if I don't hear from you.....

Nice one Sanguine.

I would say British and an artist ??

Certainly British, and yes he went to art school but that's not what he is mainly remembered for.

Is he an actor then ??

Sorry folks we had unexpected visitors.
Hmm no idea at the moment I will go on a search.

Not really but he has narrated and done radio - but again that's not what he is best known for.

Let me know when/if you need more clues (and I thought you all had facial recognition software on your PCs! ;))

He looks like a poet or a painter. Still haven't a clue.
Need another clue or hangman please.

He once co-wrote a Traffic song with Steve Winwood. Appeared on a TV show that could have been about TV repair men.

No, sorry.

He developed a set of characters called the Rawlinsons (that should do it).

Vivian Stanshall.

Googled Rawlinsons and came up with nothing so I You Tubed it and it was the first thing that came up.

He was lead singer of The Bonzo Dod Doodah Band.

That was a tricky one Sanguine.....

Things you learn on this thread.....

Yep, well done Zolabud

WHO WINS A PAIR OF COMEDY EYEBALLS WORN BY THE MAN HIMSELF!!!

Vivian Stanshall, musician, poet, raconteur and wit, a true English eccentric. Leader of the Bonzo Dog (Doo Dah) Band. They came to attention on the children's surreal TV show 'Do Not Adjust Your Set' which starred Eric Idle and David Jason. He was a friend of John Lennon and co-wrote 'Dream Gerrard' on the Traffic album 'When the Eagle Flies'. Wrote 'Sir Henry at Rawlinson End' which was made into a cult film starring Trevor Howard.

Tragically died in a house fire in the 90s.
