I had a word with the management regarding the issue of medals to members.
They inform me medals are issued at the discretion of those in the higher state offices.
In the meantime, while attending dinner after Wimbledon yesterday, Prince Charles decided
to sit beside me. I seized the moment and broached the subject of medals with him. He informs me that,
rather sadly, the London Mint Office are withholding all medal presentations until he issues a cheque to
cover the last batch of medals delivered to him via the Royal Mint Rolls Royce.
Further, he tells me his coffers are completely empty and void of any monitory funds.
Upon eye-balling the look on my face he very speedily thrust his left hand into his inner jacket rear pocket.
Immediately, and with a knowing look only his Royal Highness can display, he slipped the medal you see
before your very eyes, into my open necked Holland & Barret ermine and silk rosemary black shirt
centre front pocket.
So, here it is, the one and only final gold medal for your perusal.
