Thanks for letting us know that Archie has moved to a new home, sorry about the smoker down stairs, lets hope the wind changes its direction in your favour.I sold Archie last weekend after my chest got progressively worse since I got him last October. It was not a decision I made lightly.
I advertised him on Saturday afternoon and within half an hour had a call from a family in Brighton near me. The family all came up on Sunday and Archie was out on my shoulder and the lady put out her fingers and Archie just hopped on and went and sat on her shoulder which I was pretty surprised at as he normally takes his time with strangers.
Turns out the Mum in the family had kept Greys for years when she was younger and they had been looking for the right bird for around a year. I was happy that she knew what she was doing and Archie has 3 kids and a dog to keep him occupied.
The first thing I did after he left was fling open my french doors which haven't been open since last October. And I kept thinking "I can smell cigarette smoke".... Took me a while to realise where it was coming from. The guy in the flat below me smokes and the smoke was wafting out of his window and coming straight into my front room. It made me feel so sick so I have shut my doors and windows and they will stay shut now which is a great shame.
Monday morning when I woke the silence was deafening. I miss him dreadfully as we had become very close. My son texted and asked if I wanted a baby budgie. I would have the same problem with a smaller bird as I have Emphasyma and bird dander is a well known irritant to my lungs.
I don't keep in touch with the new owners as I find it too upsetting.
The end.....
