Who are they?

I'm stuck. I have Googled everything I can think of via the clues and come up with nothing....

*Sigh*.....

Eh... Initials maybe ??

Of the actor or the film....

Sorry I've been a bit slow to reply lately. (same silly old health problems)

Anyway, there was always a rumour floating around insinuating
this gentleman was having a fling with a well known famous
American male film star. As far as I know he did not respond to
these rumours until, that is, he published his autobiography
where he stated......
"I was tempted, but never followed through with establishing
a relationship with ***e"

zola, the "Eh"? >>>>>> How could a dead person appear and
star in a film made, after he was dead...

I failed to make that point clear enough.

Good luck again, all.

It looks a bit like Lawrence Olivier but I can't find that photo.
But I will give it a go.
Sir Lawrence Olivier

what does this mean. (Eh?)
I am lost at the moment.

Oops, I called you "zola" in the earlier reply, izzzi.

Oddly enough it does move when I did this from your avatar. When you look at your profile it moves, must be because of reduced size,I think Wee Willie know more about these things.:)
Hi izzzi, quite simply two options of the same images... one static the other animated,
unless that is, zola captured an animated image and it was saved as.... static.

Willie. I Googled film stars who acted in films after they died and there are lots.

Oliver Reed. Heath Ledger to name but two.

They hired lookalikes and often did that CGI (computer generated images I think it stands for) and altered their faces.

Sometimes the actors died with only a few more scenes to go so they had to improvise.

So it is entirely possible....

I was puzzled why the same saved image (which moves) is static on my avatar and moves when you click on it. Giverny is looking into it.

Aaaaah but, zola, he starred in the film 15 years after his death. :wideyed:

The film makers were very clever, they used a graphic artist. ;)

So it does zola, though it only becomes animated (for me)
in your profile page image when you hover your mouse over it.

It'll be interesting to discover the reason when Giverny contacts you.
She's very knowledgeable, so you'll get a helpful reply.

Best wishes.

Point taken Willie. Thanks for explaining. I still haven't a clue though....

I Googled that quote and Lawrence Olivier said it about Danny Kaye.

I know it's him now, I was thrown off as I thought the picky was a lot later than that.

Still have yet to fathom the clue and I know Opalshards got there first but I am going with Larry.

It is Lawrence Olivier.

Thanks Willie, been to the Black Country museum today, Brilliant. You have got me with this one.I have noticed your reply to Zola.yet still blankish.

Fifteen years after his death, Laurence Olivier starred as the villain in 2004's Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow through the magic of computer graphics. British theater critic Kenneth Tynan said of Olivier: "He's like a blank page and he'll be whatever you want him to be. He'll wait for you to give him a cue, and then he'll try to be that sort of person."

AHA !!!
