Happy bunny!

Diagnosed in January with hbA1c of 57 and fasting blood test of 7.6

Came here, started the LCHF lifestyle and today results are hbA1c 48 and fasting blood test of 5.8 and that's after only two months of trying (I didn't start the diet right away, I was in shock!)

I've not started exercise yet but have lost over a stone. I'm going to walk more to start with.

I want to give this forum a virtual hug because it is here that I get all my information :)

Now I need to train my Mum too!

Behold the sword of LCHF and send the evil carb beast back from whence it came!

Thank you all of you.

I hope that anyone newly diagnosed gives this lifestyle/diet a chance. It isn't easy but it isn't as hard as I thought it would be. The difficulty at first for me was finding alternatives to foods I was avoiding. But now I have a routine that makes it easier. I also test frequently to see what I can or can't eat. I still have a way to go though!

Also, just today I was linked to a page via an email from my GP that gives the advice "Ten Steps to Eating Well" from Diabetes UK and this diet tells you to eat starch, mentions more fruit etc. If I wasn't on this forum, I would be following that advice and would probably have high BG by now!
