Why are my readings higher than usual?

The only change to my usual quite rigid eating pattern was on Christmas Day. However in the weeks before and days since, I am finding my BG levels are running high.

I generally run at 4-6 between meals but lately it has been 8-12.

What's going on? Like I said, no change to diet or activity other than Christmas Day.

Thanks.

I am Type 2 or 1.5 (docs won't test). Normal BMI. On Novorapid and Levemir.

Hi,
Why won't the docs test?

I'm type 1 and mine have been higher too. Apparently the cold weather can have an affect on how well insulin works

Hi.

I don't know why they won't test. Money? No point because a diagnosis wouldn't affect my treatment??

I suppose cold weather could be a factor. Warm weather makes me hypo very quickly.

I'm still at 8.8 nearly 3 hours post breakfast when usually I would be 4.5-5.

Annoying!

Are you harbouring an infection? Possibly a hidden one maybe. Coughs, colds, viruses etc all raise levels.
although there are other reasons this could be happening I agree with @Bluetit1802 that an infection could be the cause.
Infections play havoc with my BG levels.

I feel perfectly fine. Maybe something will surface. Reading 6.8 nearly 4 hours post meal.

Higher than usual for me.

hi
do try to get seen as soon as you can -- as you say the numbers are not normal for you and YOU know your body.
perhaps your insulin resistance has changed and you might require your doses to be tweaked upwards. but do check with your DSN or doctor.
