Why do I no longer get e-mails?

I think I'm getting your share too. I must admit, I didn't realise how many email alerts I'd get. 46 yesterday afternoon and about another dozen this morning so far and its only 9.07 - each time one arrives the PC upstairs does its star trek alarm noise (set up by Mr C) and my phone, kindle and tablet all make different alarm sounds - I think I'll going have to turn the emails off.
