Why do I taste sweet?

I've noticed recently that my blood and perspiration taste a little sweet.

I'm type 2 and not on any diabetes medication. I am on medication for heart problems and high blood pressure.

My sugar levels have been pretty good lately, although I do have the odd junk food binge. A few minutes ago it was 4.7 mmol.

So is tasting a little sweet normal for a type 2?

Thanks

Interesting question! When I was type 1, I was the only person in a family of 5 who the wasps made a beeline (ha ha!) for. I have always assumed that my badly controlled regime caused a sweeter "pheromone" that attracted them. I could easily believe that a type 2, whose blood-sugar can vary, could well smell or taste sweet. Try not to go mad at the manic binge time!
