Why does my heart race when I'm having a hypo?

Hi guys, I've just had a hypo of 3.2 and I've realised that when I have a hypo my heart starts racing and I feel really sick. Is it normal or what cause it is a really nasty feeling. Hope you can help thanks

Yes it's quite normal. Basically your body releases stress hormones (fight or flight) to raise your blood sugar.

When our bg falls to hypo levels the body produces adrenaline.........hence why the heart races.
