Why no blood sugar test device?

I have a code free that I buy strips for but I also have an aviva nano and I argue with my GP that I am a responsible patient and I want to keep a check on how I am managing by DB he can sometimes be persuaded to let me have some strips if I make them last a long long long time (his words)

Would you believe it. Almost a cheek of him to say that to you. I daren't ask for any... lol
Mind you if you think about it.. that little strip is quite amazing... I bet there's a silicone chip in there somewhere too.

I have a Codefree monitor too.. their strips are the cheapest, I find @ £7 for 50

Why don't they universalise the strips ? Because that would bring them less profit probably.
