What a fabulous concept of technology this is! Have been working out on it for two nights, and after starting a low GI diet last week have lost 6lbs!!!! It is so much fun too although I didn't like it making me short and fat and calling me obese

Just remember that you'll get the same result from any exercise when combined with a healthy diet. The Wii Fit has in fact been the subject of litigation (in the USA I think) with regards to it's actual "fitness" benefits.

All the same, good on you. :D

the important thing is that it is fun and because of this you are more likely to use it .you keep it up.congratulations on the weight loss. :D

I used to love the Wii. BUT - then I got Wii-Fit and it made my Mii fat too. It happened right before my eyes... I stood on the balance board, it weighed me, then it made my Mii fat. My mee then looked down at himself, threw his hands in the air, and shook his head...

That really hurt, man... :-(

I think Nintendo's going to be facing a lot of emotional damages claims soon... :P

Well of course I know this BUT it is fun and I'm just hoping that one day it will wolf whistle me instead of going ouch!! I look at my avatar, that was me in 2007 finishing the London Marathon, I am determined to do it again!

Me and Eoin are doing the London Marathon next year. We need to get to the expo in April... Then we're running it for a hospice in Galway where we did our work experience that's being threatened with closure next year.

Anyway, I used to have Wii fit, but I didn't really have time to use it consistantly...

Well we were already in pretty good shape from running half-marathons. But right now, every 3rd week I run a marathon on the Saturday. Although it's taking it's toll on my trainers.

I run 1 1/2 hours every other day, and in between those days I'm running 1 hour but at a quicker pace.

I'm going to gradually build my carbs up until the marathon, so that when I have a heavy in carb meal the day before the race, my body isn't going to panic.

And Sunday is always a rest day... I can never bring myself to do anything on a Sunday...

I love my Wii fit! Of course it's not a cure all but if you're indoors it's got to be better than sitting on the sofa doing nothing!

I've done the Great South Run twice (pre diagnosis), was too ill to do it last year (now I know I had diabetes!!) so definately doing it this year! Only this year instead of raising money for the Heart Foundation who have helped my Dad so much I will be raiisng for Diabetes Research... without previous research by the likes of Banting I don't think I'd be here now... :D

Congratulations everyone on your various achievements! :D :) 8)

I'm interested in Wii Fit, purely because at the moment the weather is so darned diabolically **** MOST days that I don't feel like my usual walks if I think I'll be drenched which has happened already this week! If you're caught indoors and wish to do something different that sounds fun, this could be a good idea - please may I ask how much is the Wii Fit program? Congrats specially Jan123 on losing 61bs, sounds good to me! :) cheers! Salsasue

I bought the Wii console and the Wii fit game with which you get the balance board for £249 although I think that Tescos has a good deal on at the moment which may be cheaper. It really is so much fun, there is a step class which basically has you stepping up and down on the balance board just like any other step. The weight I have lost is not just down to the excercise though, I have followed quite a strict low GI diet this week but treated myself to a tin of beef and veg soup at lunch time and have BS of 10.7 which is certainly a lot lower than previously

That's... pretty epic. I think I'll start out a bit less intense. D:

If anyone wants the Wii board, check out cex.com They're second hand, but come with warranty, and cex are really good at exchanging stuff. The balance boards only are about £50.

I love my Wii... love the boxing but the star wars has to be the most fun ever lol.

You are brave doing marathons, i hate running.

I keep badgering the kids to get a Wii for christmas, but no they want an x-box, looks like Mummy's going to have to slip one under the christmas tree for herself

Has anyone tried the EA active workout? Thats great - you can choose your workout from 20 - 60 minutes and it gives you a full body workout using a resistance band and measuring your steps.

You can use your Wii fit board with it as well - but I find that a bit fiddly. Well worth the £40 methinks.

Running is a fantastic way to manage your BG - I have managed to lose 2 stone this year by running and improving my eating habits. Definately a convert!
