Hi,
I had to not eat for 7hrs!! they told me I could only drink water, black coffee or black tea.

why do they make these appointments in the blooming afternoon!!!!! if would be better if it were early in the morning - at least you dont mind not eating!

Update 2

Update 2.

Well I saw my GP yesterday and the news is not too bad. I have Grade 2 fatty liver disease, and at the moment there is no firbosis that can be seen. Also there is no hepatitis (swelling) that can be seen at the moment either. :)

He said it was not linked to alcohol, but was linked to my diabetes, my very high triglycerides (14, rather than 1.7) and the amount of medication that I am on. He could not reduce my medication as he said that I need each and everyone of them. Therefore it would be difficult to halt or reverse the situation, although better control of my BG would really slow it down.

He finally said that it would probably progress but could not guess at what rate and when it reached grade 3 or 4 then he would refer me to a liver specialist.

All in all it has been a relief that it is not something rather nasty, and after a little bit of research I found out it could take up to 8 years to progress and although it could turn into something very nasty, the odds of that NOT happening are really rather good.

Thanks didie,

Yes and at last I will see my DNS today as she is going to drop off two new insulin pens and will broach the subject then.

Mind you until I have finished these horrible antibiotics tomorrow and given my body a week to settle down I will not be altering too much, as my BG are so up & down at the moment.
