Do you remember Blakes 7 sci-fi show bbc1 late 70s?

One of the main characters called Vila says....

"I'm gonna live forever...........or at least die trying"

Me too! My mother had type 2 from her late 60s. She was put on gliclazide. We or I didn't really know much about it then. We just tried to monitor her sweet tooth. Knew nothing about how bad carbs were. Being Italian there was always loads of pasta but by and large it was a good med diet. Anyway, she eventually developed dementia at the age of 83. A very sad time. She died at 87. A good age some would say and we were lucky to have her with us until the age of 83/84. She was in a care home from the age of 85. I am determined not to get that awful brain disease. X
