I've been recuperating since my appendectomy nine days ago. I've been going for short walks. Back to 10,000 steps a day from tomorrow. Unfortunately I won't be returning to the gym to do weight bearing stuff until after Christmas.
However, I'm still losing weight, so it ain't all bad!
It's very cold suddenly and if I can't go out I'm resolved not to put the heating on between breakfast and mid-afternoon. I'm up to 4 layers of body clothing indoors and running on the spot. There's no warm work to be done in the garden atm. I suppose I could do the vacuuming ...
Vacuuming sounds like a good idea. I did just that in three rooms today. Not just the floors. Did all around the ceilings, shelves and lampshades. It is a thankless task, but at least I avoided going out on the icy pavements.
Walked to the shops, walked to the allotment to dig a few veg, walked on the shingle by the sea with Mrs DeeJay as the sun went down. Good job I bought some stout walking shoes recently!
Felt well enough to get out for a short walk and wander around the high street shops.
Too much traffic and too many shoppers for it to be an enjoyable experience. I forgot to wear the activity tracker too, so computer thinks I have been lazy.
Hope you are all feeling better .
I've done 6000-10000 steps most days between work and walks .
I don't like it in the dark though .Getting my new car tomorrow
In the garden, raking, pruning & ho-ho-hoeing; then a bike ride, about 3 miles. Kept warm except for hands. Reduced my BS to 4.8 but it rose above 6 again quite quickly.
Oh what joy. I managed to get to the swimming pool. A 15 minute swim and 55 minutes aquafit.
I feel so much more energised. Home and sorted out a lot of junk mail for recycling, and did a load of laundry and was able to line dry it all.
I also exceeded the step target for today by 265 steps so far. Will see if I can add to that around the house tonight.. Don't fancy going for a walk in the dark.
Heck it is getting lonely here.
Walking around hospital corridors at clinic appointments has been my fun day today. Then another walk around the suburban streets later.
Still recovering well from appendix removal and I'm considering supplementing my daily 10,000 steps with some gentle gym work. I've had much more energy this week and the incisions are healing very well.
