Haha that made me smile

I've been struggling to stay active , found myself making excuses about why I haven't had time and winter is on it's way so it will be harder .
I've decided to reopen this thread to try and get my motivation back.
Since Friday I've been helping my husband knock down a garage , he did the knocking down I put masses of bricks into a skip , hard physical work.I'd like to loose 7lb by Christmas if I can , that's my goal.
Thankfully my BS has been OK but it won't stay that way unless I get back on track .

Me too @Jamrox . I now have a very very painful sacroilliac joint in my pelvis and sciatica. Sciatica only kicked off when I started exercising again in the spring. I cannot win.
I've decided to walk. I can only walk a few minutes at a time. Hiked up on painkillers and sitting on people's garden walls gives me respite. I'm trying my best.

Going to do a 9 mile bike ride. I know many wouldn't consider that a lot, but it is for me. Trying to Improve my fitness levels but also reduce my insulin. Came down 2 units to 16 last week, and think I will come down two more tonight as I'm coming in below 5 in the mornings. Last week I did a 9 mile, then 5 mile, 3 mile, 1 hour of yoga, 2 miles as fast as possible then a mile fast walking - all on different days you understand. Can't always take the time for a longer session and don't have a lot of will power as exercise doesn't really float my boat. Still hanker after the days when I could lounge around, read and eat carbs! Although I don't miss carbs any more - but just occasionally it would be nice to have a cake!

Just got over a frozen shoulder and getting into morning exercises and at least one 30 minute walk a day.... and right knee seems to have popped... not too sure what it is but Lord is it sore. Walking in a straight line is okay but turning it is no fun.... and sleeping at night is a bit of a do... just hope this is not the start of bits failing... need to keep using them.......

That sounds sore . Little and often is the keep when you're sore . Maybe doing what others have done and walking for 5 minutes a time until you can do a bit more . You know lots of people would do nothing at all so you are doing great . Hope that doesn't sound patronising .

Some people wouldn't think 100 miles was a lot and who cares lol. You are doing the right thing and finding something that works for you and that's key .I LOVE cake and treat myself sometimes. Problem is it's becoming more than sometimes recently so getting back on track now .

Hi @Hamkjam could you swim until your knees better? I can't swim but I know @Pipp and others swear by it .
Hope you feel better soon.

I went for a lovely walk along the river in sunny Ayrshire. Ended up doing 4 miles.

I am amazed but can truly say I haven't had a cake for six months! No high carbs either. I've been so good my teeth hurt lol. Not like me at all! Lchf is certainly working for me.

Swimming is good for me, though more freestyle than breaststroke, which is a slightly more demanding stroke, the way I do it anyway... no sense of moderation...
Thank you for your wishes
:)

Yes, Pipp does advocate swimming, and aquafit. Most people regard aquafit as exercise for girls, but several blokes join in the classes I go to.
The water makes you feel weightless, and so takes pressure off painful joints.

Not been this week though. Walked a bit last few days.

Ooh swimming! Now that's an idea. I'm going to keep up my walking, but will also take up a short term membership at a contract-free gym.

Lower carb works for me too . I know what I can get away with and I know that if I go off the rails then I have to move more to combat the spikes . It works for me . It's all about testing things and finding out what works for us as individuals. Type 2 is definitely a very individual condition

Went shopping today , walked around the shopping centre and ikea , don't know how far but was on my feet for ages.

Lovely walk in the Scottish Highlands then walked around Pitlochry on the way home .
Shattered now but happy.
