I made a nice discovery by accident the other day - I had a ham shank and a bag of ready prepared soup veg - carrots, onions and swede I think - lobbed it all in a pan and then found 2 packets of green beans that needed using up so lobbed them in too.
I always liquidise my soups so son will eat them - when i whizzed this one up it went a lovely green colour and tasted just like pea n ham - even hubby said - "wow pea n ham thought that had been relegated to the too carby bin" - was quite impressed when I told him what I had done - he said he couldn't tell the difference - so less carby than pea n ham but just as tasty
- by the way I do take my ham shank out before I whizz it - but that is obvious I suppose
