All at night before bed. When do you take your basal? Night or morning or split?
Sorry, I wasn't clear, I meant that I increased it to 12 units (from 10 units). I think my honeymoon period is coming to an end.Heya, sorry to hear this. 12 units is a big increase, why this amount ? As others have said would be wise to reduce.
Ah ok, yes drop it back down, sounds like your pancreas is still squirting, also aim to be at 7-8 mmol/l before bed if you can, best to stay safe rather than hypo in the night, hope you have a better night tonight
If I go to bed with a blood sugar level of below 10mmol/ls, I expect to wake up on a level of between 1.8 and 2.4 7 hours later.
I have messed around with reducing my basal dosage regularly but have found having a high blood reading before bed is the only way to negate the morning low effect.
My nurse can't explain the reason.
Well after the awfulness of yesterday, last night and today has been perfect, so far (even with cereal, bagel and eggs for breakfast)...

I did reduce my Lantus back down last night.
Hopefully Friday night and yesterday morning was a blip .... fingers crossed I'm back on track (touch wood).
