Ok I know this post is a bit random but I wanted to share some good news.
As mentioned elsewhere, my 21 yr old daughter has type 2 diabetes and is on insulin 4 times daily as well as metformin and a host of other meds.
She has a rare syndrome which causes obesity problems and she has a lot to contend with, at present she is living in a hospital for people with severe behavioural problems and learning difficulties.
Even though all food is kept in a locked kitchen, she is allowed to make food choices for herself within reason, her diabetes has been becoming better controlled and she has brought her levels down from horrendously high levels to single figures most days.
She phoned me this morning to tell me her pre-brekkie level was 4.8
She has worked so hard to do this, has also been going for regular exercise with staff members (she walks for a least twenty minutes every day) which can be quite hard for her.
I am so proud of her. Hope nobody minds me doing the soppy mum bit
