I'm working in Glasgow at the moment on a project for Qatar, I'm allready doing 12 hour days, and half days at the weekend, I've settled into a groove re my diet, and keep my bg fairly stable, despite the attempts of the practise nurse at the gp's I registered at, and also their refusal to let me have test strips. I've moved accomodation to Hamilton and re registered at a practise there and the nurse there told me they'll prescribe test strips if I need them.

Anyway, it looks like I'll be asked to go out to Qatar to work, I'll be living in good conditions in a camp of 50,000 people, and I expect though I haven't enquired, that there will be good medical facilities there. It'll be 6 12 hour days a week, for 8 weeks then 2 weeks back home, and that puts me off, because I'll be shagged out. But wanting to see the job through and also because theres loads of money I'm tempted.

Has anyone got any words of advice for working long hours in a hot climate, strange food, complete lack of bacon, unless its made of chicken or beef.

You might think I could be looking forward to a bit of Sun, Sea, Sand and Sex but having been there before I know it will be Sun, Sand, Sand and Sand
