I'm 30 yrs old and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in January 2017, my A1C was 8.5 and my cholesterol was so high because I didn't know I have diabetes for 3 months.
The doctor put me on 2 tablets of Metformin 500 MG and Farxiga 10 MG and of course medication for the cholesterol.
After 3 months, my A1C went down to 6.1 and lost 10 lbs . My weight was 132 lbs and went down to 122 lbs. I went again yesterday for check up and my A1C was the same 1.6, the problem is I'm still losing weight and I'm afraid of being under weight. I went to the gym the last couple months because I read many articles about people who stopped the medication after going to the gym. I go to the gym 3 days a week and in these days I skip the medication and my numbers are very good. My doctor was so angry that I did that. Did anyone take off the medication after exercising?
My fasting numbers are a little bit high, what they should be fasting and after meals ?

I first kicked out the statins ... i'm convinced they were the cause of my diabetes.
Then I kicked out the Metformin.
Then I kicked out the blood pressure tablets.
I can't exercise very much at all because of spinal problems.
I kicked them out as I changed my diet to a low carb high fat one.
Blood pressure not perfect but about as good as the tablets got it.
Bad cholesterol down good cholesterol up.
Glucose control excellent.

There is no reasons to skip any of these meds when you go to the gym as none of them will make your BG too low regardless of how hard you work out even if you are fasting. Great choose of meds as they don't stop you gyming, low carbing and/or intermittent fasting, hence you can safely do everything that is well know to help control diabetes.

But you must drink a lot of water while taking Farxiga.

To stop losing weight you must lose your fair of "good fats" and learn to love olive oil etc. Google for "fat bombs" to get some ideal of how to take in lots of energy without having carbs. By controlling how many carbs you eat, you can get your BG lower and then the doctor will be happy with you stopping Farxiga. At your A1C if you can keep it at that level without the Farxiga, then personally I would be thinking about stopping the Farxiga, but keeping the Metformin.
