Working Overnight

Anyone have any advice for me? On the Friday after the bank holiday I'm going to be working overnight as we have some work that can only be done out of hours when the office is closed.

I'll be on my feet for a bit I imagine rather than sitting down so not sure if I should reduce my insulin dose at teatime (as if I was going to be exercising), or keep the dose the same and snack during the night. I'll also be going to bed shortly after taking my morning dose and having breakfast so not sure how that will affect me either.

Please note I'm on (still) a mixed insulin so am not able to mess with dosages too much.

Thank god I don't have to do this often.

The most pragmatic thing is to inject your usual teatime insulin, eat a packed evening meal and then have another bedtime snack. Have some snacks available if you need them overnight. When you get home inject, have your usual breakfast and go to bed.

You will need it!
