Worried about changes in blood sugar readings

I was diagnosed as a type 2 last April. Got my levels back to normal in a few months time, and they have stayed there for the last 8 months. For the past week, my fasting as well as my post meal readings have been running about 20 percent higher. I really haven't done anything different. Is this cause for concern? Have others seen fluctuations, or a bad weeks? Can stress play a role?

Stress can certainly have an effect. Have you been ill recently. Fighting an infection can also cause us problems. Anything else changed recently?

There is a poster floating around somewhere that lists the 40 things that can raise your blood sugar. I could be wrong about the 40, but it was a lot. Stress, lack of sleep, daily activity levels, change in routines, hormone changes, beside illness, infections (hidden infections with teeth sometimes) etc, etc etc.

So if you have been highly stressed, that would be a possible reason.

The worry is if things return to normal but your blood sugars just keep going up. Or they just keep going up period.

Always keep in mind 40% of LADA/type 1's are misdiagnosed as a type 2 at first. At the beginning you still make insulin for a while so diet changes, medications can work. But as time goes on and you keep making less insulin your blood sugars will go up.
I'm not saying you are a type 1, I'm just saying keep it in mind, just in case.
