lol. yes it's a shame that nutrition/supplements aren't usually advised upon by an expert in our surgeries, then we wouldn't need to put ourselves at risk looking for answers elsewhere. I know it's a question of cost, but surely helping us to good nutrition is the most cost effective way of keeping us healthy. Sometimes it's not possible to get everything you need from diet alone. Sometimes our bodies just don't work properly. I went to a naturopath for a while. She gave me emails to show my GP so he knew what blood tests she would like done. One showed up a deficiency in B12. The doctor hadn't thought of this and didn't offer me a supplement to put this right. He didn't even remark on the results of the tests, so I had to pay to get the advice and then to get the supplement. If I hadn't I would still be deficient in it....or would have bought some myself (along with others that I didn't need) in an effort to help myself. People turn to charlatans like those above because they are desperate. I have done it myself in the past. I knew there was something wrong with me and wanted to get well. No-one else listened. I totally agree about the lack of regulation though. You just don't know what you are buying when you buy supplements online and this can be much more dangerous than taking the drugs which are prescribed for us. At least with drugs they are regulated and you have a list of side effects so you know what to look for. At last I have found a doctor who will listen to me and is getting me the help I need.:) I have waited 54 years for this.
