Did not measure BS before, but 1hour after main meal BS 6.6. ( Meal was a 5oz portion of cod in a home made cheese sauce ( milk, flour, butter and cheese.),4 lumps of colliflower, 4 lumps of brocolli and 1 small new potato.2 hours after meal BS 4.9.Is that ok? BTW, type 2,1 500mg Metformin/day.

That's a really good reading Stevie, well done.Don't worry about it being up one hour after eating, even non diabetics rise after a meal. The important thing is the reading 2 hours after which is excellent.

Stevie,
Happy? I would be overjoyed with figures like that!!

The question is,is the Metformin being helped to do its job with the cinnamon I take?I've a feeling that the cinnamon is enhancing the effect of the Metformin 8) I would ask my DN for her opinion but she does'nt believe in the black arts that I practice like cis-oils and cinnamon.

The only way you're going to prove that is to stop taking cinnamon for a week and see if there is a difference.Personally I take cinnamon and think it helps.I'll just keep following the "Black arts" as well

well done if that's low for you, but as to the original question, I would be very disappointed that my bg was that high. I was annoyed today because it went up to 5.9 earlier, but then i hadn't eaten and been working hard and rushing about for a show.

my usual 1 hr post meal is about 5.2 - 5.5 and 4.7 - 4.9 2 hrs later.

you had a good meal but I'd ditch the potato and just grate cheese and add butter instead of the cheese sauce. your bg's would be even lower then. If ya still peckish, eat more fish :-)

type 2, ditched metformin couple of months ago :-)
