Could anyone tell me if it’s posable & if so HOW TO get xdrip to use my cars speakers to give me my sugar levels while Driving

I use xdrip with Dexcom G7, & I’m not very tech savvy

In xdrip settings on motion Tracking page I have

Enable Motion Tracking OFF

Enable Vehicle Mode ON

Detect car audio ON

Learn current car audio this is SET TO MY CAR

Raise ”Low” threshold ON

Speak Readings ON

Play sound ON

Repeat sound ON

But only get the Levels ON my Phone not the cars speakers (is this how it’s supposed to work) I’ve no idea who to ask.

If the phones in my pocket I can’t hear it & if I place it on the passenger seat I think the police will think I’m making a phone call & give me a ticket so I don’t use it.

is this how “Vehicle Mode” is supposed to work or can I get the cars speakers to work with xdrip.

Do I have to change turn on any other settings. I would be grateful for any help please

I recommend contacting the xDrip team on Facebook. They are more likely to know than a forum hosted by a company that focuses on treating diabetes with low carb diet.

good idea but not on Facebook or anything like it & would not know how start. just Just thought anyone who uses xdrip may know sort of a last ditch effort

I can’t help at all but hopefully someone with much more knowledge than me in these things will be along with some helpful advice

I don't know about the voice aspect, but previous posters have put a visual reading on an ipad (or some such) stuck to the dashboard...

I have a cradle on the A pillar in my van.

It was possible with xDrip to set a display up whilst the phone was charging as a screensaver?
With my phone I could split screen between sat nav & the app so I had an at a glance read out.

I use Diabox now (does the same stuff as xDrip but less complicated, more intuitive.)
& just checked the speech setting on Bluetooth ear buds whilst listening to music? Yep it talks like a lovely pleasant “bingo caller..” :)

Forgot to add.

If you have an auxiliary on your car stereo?
Some headphone jack in or some aftermarket stereos can have phono input connections in the rear?

You could hardwire your phone from the headphone socket. These are disappearing on new devices.

I managed to pick one of these adaptors up online for a couple of quid. I can charge the device too.

Ah, OK. I see. I used xDrip a couple of years back with the L1 then found Diabox great with the L2 when I was prescribed them.
Trialed the G6 a while ago & used xDrip again for the at a glance features.

This might help if you haven’t managed to get your G7 connected to xDrip. I worked out I didn’t need to install the Dexcom app at all? https://navid200.github.io/xDrip/docs/Dexcom/G7.html
