I will certainly write something - but I don't want the diabetes nurse who did the course to feel too bad, as she has to follow official guidelines.
I went along prepared to listen - and I did follow one of her suggestions, which was to not test for several days and then, when convenient, do a day when you follow the whole day through - 7 tests in all. I found this useful, and reassuring. But I wouldn't have the reasonably stable bg levels I have now, if I hadn't learned through testing what and how much I could eat at any one time.
And if I hadn't started to do this straight after diagnosis.
I will certainly express my views - as the NHS hasn't listened to informed reason, perhaps force of numbers will help.
Thanks for your support, cugila.
