YEAST INFECTION

Hi Ive been a type 2 diabetic for 3 years for which i was on metformin , I had so much trouble with them diaria stomach upsets etc etc my doctor told me to leave them off my blood was in the 6s
its now srept up to 7.4 and he says its ok no need to take any tablets but this last fortnight ive had this yeast infection on inner arms and inside grion for which he gave some cream which seems to be working ,Im wondering if i should be going back on some kind of treatment ,as anybody else had this

Hi naffyboy,
I don't know alot, But i am on diet only! My Doctor says that unless my blood glucose stays above 9 then she would not put me onto metaformin!
i have been diabetic since april! But been suffering since feb of this year!
Yeast infections are common in diabetics! I have been suffering with thrush! please excuse the wording! And since i have my blood sugar down it is not as bad!
I have been able to keep my sugars between 6 at highest of late 8! when you say you have been suffering yeast infections under arms and in groin! Can i give you a little advice that i was given!
I am female!
I have found that using just a little cool water now and again helps, Don't use soap in those areas as these could make matters worse! wear cotton shirts and cotton underwear! Avoid demin at all costs with the groin area!
If you can allow the areas to breath for a little while you will find this will help ease it as well!
i would not be worried so much at 6 or 7! Or even 8 after a meal but if it stays above 8 then see Gp,
If metaformin is upsetting your system! You can ask for slow release metaformin i do believe that these are easier on your belly!

Thanks for that sandy I will try out your suggestions and see how I get on I have tried the slow release tablets but not much improvement so I will probally stick to a diet and hope blood sugars dont creep up any more I want to try to avoid those metformin tabs if poss my stomach is so much better with out
