I called my GP today to get the results of my first glucose challenge and HBA1c. Now, I know I'm diabetic and the nurse knows I'm diabetic. Already on metformin, low-carbing, loosing weight blah blah blah.
The receptionist called me back to say she had spoken to the doc and one of my results was 'high'. Following that was a loaded silence and she told me I had diabetes.
I finally stopped laughing about three minutes after I hung up. I will be writing to the practice manager to let her know she needs to pay the receptionists more if they are going to take that much responsibility and the one I spoke to today may need some counselling.
I'm afraid you haven't. A Diabetician is also known as a Diabetoligist or Endocrinoligist: i.e. a consultant with a specialist knowledge of diabetes. And I don't think you are one!!
