Your glucose count is not a judgement of you as a person

I rather liked the following comment on the site of the American Diabetes Association:

"Keep in mind that blood glucose results often trigger strong feelings. Blood glucose numbers can leave you upset, confused, frustrated, angry, or down. It's easy to use the numbers to judge yourself. Remind yourself that your blood glucose level is a way to track how well your diabetes care plan is working. It is not a judgment of you as a person. The results may show you need a change in your diabetes plan."

High readings tell us that something needs to change, our diet, level or exercise or medication. We should see these readings as a challenge not a judgement on our character.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR QUOTE,YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RITE.RICHARD

A simple statement but so very true.

It's easy to lose track of any plan if all I focus on is my BG readings but without them I have no way of tracking my progress. Taken in context, they are a vital tool to manage my diabetes but I can see how they could easily become the focus of everything with the thinking that if I have a high reading then everything I am doing must be wrong.

Thanks for that reminder pavlosn :D
