Kidney disease, reversing diabetes + yoga
Did you know that four in ten of
us with diabetes will develop nephropathy (more commonly known as kidney disease) at
some point in our lives?
This condition can have serious consequences if not treated at
an early stage.
However, it can be prevented by maintaining good control of blood sugars and blood pressure and having your annual screening check.
Diabetic nephropathy
If left untreated, kidney disease could advance to a level of damage known as end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or kidney failure. Ideally, this would be treated with a kidney transplant.
Kidney transplants
But with a shortage of kidney donors in the UK, another form of treatment called kidney dialysis may be required.
