Technology, reversing diabetes
+ HbA1c
Technology plays a big part
in diabetes care.
Advances in technology have
led to huge improvements in products used to treat diabetes, such as blood glucose meters
and insulin pumps.
For example, it was recently revealed that researchers in Manchester have developed new technology that could lead to stronger, longer lasting and easier to administer insulin.
Blood glucose monitoring is one area of diabetes care that is constantly being improved.
Among the latest developments is a tiny, implantable device that can check for up to five different substances in the blood, including glucose, at the same time and provide instant results.
Technological research has been looking to find a viable alternative to injections for a number of years.
There has been some initial success but it has yet to be a significantly profitable enough area for manufacturers.
