    Type 1 Possible damage

Hopefully you've ditched the fizzy drinks & fruit juice, but take a good look at how many carbs you are eating. Weight lose is a sign of diabetes so it makes sense to me (not a T1) that getting control will lead to regaining your original weight as your body can now use all the carbs you are...

    Diabetes T2 and shingles

Years ago, I got it in the back of my head and the edge of my ear. It started on a Friday, by Monday when I saw a doctor he said that unfortunately it was too late after the onset for drugs to make a difference. It wasn't too bad when I was awake & upright, but it kept waking me at night every...

    Type 2 Frozen shoulder

Some of the methods people have been using are very similar to the ones in this video - BESS is the British Elbow & Shoulder Society: https://bess.ac.uk/frozen-shoulder/

The day after heavy exercise - different BG response?

Can't comment on the blood sugar levels, but I find I'm hungrier than usual for a couple of days after a big hill walk. The last one wasn't a huge distance but it was very cold - I wasn't sweating - and the previous one was over 12 miles.

Similar to what others are feeling ‘burnout’? + want full blood test but where to/?

We all lose weight if we don't eat! You must be tall to have that BMI at 16st = 101.7 kg, and congratulations on your weight drop. HbA1C of 6.8% is 55mmol/mol which is firmly in the diabetic range. Presumably your are T2? My own HbA1C started out at 56mmol/mol, 44 at the last check, done with...

I'm impressed NHS. You outdid yourself!

But are there the resources to deliver this?

    Weight is a strange thing

Were you wearing the same cloths? And using the same scales?

    Who’s to blame ?

You can get vegetarian lard! And traditional Xmas pudding contains lard.

    Who’s to blame ?

A day in the hills is a good day to have something like parkin. Or cake of any sort!

    Who’s to blame ?

That's their marketing puff, it was taken on Hunt's Everest expedition, and indeed a few climbers probably still take it. But there are a lot of alternatives around these days. Buttered malt loaf is rather good... So is buttered Yorkshire parkin. Both are great with cheese, a young soft crumbly...

    Who’s to blame ?

Kendal mint cake is one of the most utterly disgusting things I've ever eaten, on a par with the 'cream of asparagus soup' made from a powder I was served in hospital quite a few years ago.

NHS Carb Level Advice for Pre-Diabetes

The thing is that for a lot of people in your situation, that much would represent a considerable reduction in their carbohydrate intake. For those people, following that diet will reduce their HbA1c and almost certainly their waistline. But if you are eating about that much, or less, then it...
