HELP!!!Been trying LCHF eating but can't seem to lose weight but seem to have gained. I'm due back at the doctor next month and dress being told I'll have to be medicated..So frustrating
In denial - The first thing is, I don't know where you are in the world, but in the UK, it is very unusual for those with pre-diabetes to be medicated, if they don't have other fairly significant conditions to take into account. Some with PCOS are given Metformin, but that is usually more focused towards the PCOS than the pre-diabetes.
There are many misunderstandings about LCHF. It might be a magic, transformational way of eating for some, but it doesn't suit everyone. Further more, it is, like most things in life, open to interpretation for exactly what LCHF means.
Personally my way of eating could be referred to as LCHF, but I prefer to label it, where I have to as Reduced Carb, with Balancing Fats. the reason I do that is it more describes how I feel about my way of eating, and makes it easier for some to understand.
Going LCHF isn't all about cleaving chunks of cheese and spreading it with butter, before diffing it in clotted cream. I'm not suggesting you are doing that, or anything close to it, but from what I have observed over the years, some folks end up eating large amounts of protein, then add the fats.
It would be worthwhile giving us an idea of the sorts of meals you are eating, so that we could maybe help if there are some tweaks available to you. It would also be worthwhile telling us how long you have been eating LCHF and give us a rough idea of how much you have gained in that time.
Diabetes (including pre-diabetes) is a long haul, rather than a quick fix, so don't panic over a bit of a bump in the road.
