Hi Friends,
As it's written every where that prediabetes lacks any sign, I would like to know if the principle applies to you as well. I was diagnosed with prediabetes (FBS: 6.9 HbA1c: 5.9%) but I have whole signs of diabetes like dizziness, fatigue and polyurination, erectile dysfunction. I look forward to hearing the signs of your prediabetes.
 
I was diagnosed with full blown diabetes (glucose 10.6mmol/L and HbA1c of 10.4% and had no symptoms.
 
My symptoms were lethargy and weight gain for around 10 years. Even though I was on a low calorie diet and walking a couple of miles day back then I still kept piling on the pounds. I finally caught on that it was the carbs that were giving me the symptoms and cut out all the main ones, then I tried to change my exercise so that I included HIIT. A heart problem then made this impossible for me and I became T2 around 4 years later. Maybe I delayed the onset of T2 by following a low carb diet. A bout of pneumonia was what finally pushed me over the edge into full blown T2.
 
I had some subtle symptoms which I didn't attribute to diabetes at the time. I had a time where I lost my sense of balance which I now understand can be a clue. I noticed the need to go to the loo more often than other people but somehow I managed to cope with it. Train journeys to work were a trial since the old slam door trains had no loos.

And don't you have the sense of imbalance after developing diabetes?

I have had it to some extent ever since the first session but never as bad as then. Difficult to say what I experience now is due to but I only recently learned that it could be due to diabetes.
 
I've never had any symptoms, either before diagnosis or since.
When do you get the dizziness and fatigue? All the time or is there a pattern, such as after eating carbohydrates?

Unfortunately, I always have the sense which is very disturbing and irritates me. I don't know if it will be accompanied by me forever. If it is so, nothing will remain except for ....
 
The main symptoms I had were several years worth of "brain fog" and extreme and permanent tiredness, which my GP claimed were due to my weight. It wasn't until a blood test at a regular checkup 2 years ago that I was diagnosed with diabetes.

Starting a low carbohydrate diet completely cleared my brain fog, and much of my excessive tiredness. So for me, I believe it was (at least partly) my eating too many carbs that probably caused those issues and the diabetes.

Hi Yes I had dizziness, felt like I wasn't walking a straight line sometimes ( sober). Feeling fatigued also at times, like I needed to curl up and sleep. It has improved. I pace myself better and eat small regular meals and drink plenty of water.
 
Going to the loo a lot, feeling ill and out of sorts, some healing problems, tingling...
These are symptoms I have had... Oh yes, hungry after eating at times, annoyingly so
 
Excessive thirst & urinating, swelling up of hands and feet, recurring yeast infections, sore throat that would not go away no matter what, dizziness, occasional blurry vision (hard to read fine print), killer fatigue, depression, sudden weight gain (concentrated around the middle), headaches.

They say I "shouldn't" feel these things below a level of 11 or so, but apparently my body doesn't listen to the doctors on that one. Clearly there's wide variation in what people experience at different levels, since some diabetics have no clue when their sugars are in the 20's and I can tell quite clearly if it's 6+.
