Can someone help. I was diagnosed in Nov 2015 with t2d. I am on a low carb diet so far its working my blood sugar levels are OK. My problem is I am so moody and don't know if it is diabetes related. I am angry and cranky most of the time. I can't pin point why.

Won't be able to say with certainty but it is hormonal.
Fluctuating blood glucose levels do give diabetics things to do with mood swings but so do a lot of things.
When you have good control, then if you are still moody it will probably be something else.
I believe that most of us do have bad mood swings when we are not good with our food.

Hi Lynnie
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis only a few months ago,
I would not be surprised if your moodiness is somehow related to diabetes.
I have never known such a disease process that affects us in so many ways.
It must have been an incredible shock to hear your diagnosis, and even if you had some inkling,
once you realize there might need to be changes in your life, perhaps not to your liking, who would not be moody.!
Good job on taking action right away with a low carb lifestyle. That in itself should help to improve things mood wise and bodywise. Its a bit like when your home is messy and you get stuck in and tidy and clean, you feel so much better and in control.
Think of your body and mind as your home and get stuck in there too.

Noone wants to be doing housework nonstop, so set some time apart to simply relax, do something you enjoy, a simple walk in the fresh air, relax with a book. Many people can, and not saying this is wrong at all, become focused on learning as much as they can about a new change in their life, try and not focus on the bad things aka only human nature to become angry, plus unlike me I am in Australia in the height of summer, and if you are in the UK, winter is a terrible time to feel moody so be aware of that.
Looking fwd to hearing you are feeling better soon and have a tidier house :D

4ratbags I done count carbs. I eat approximately between 50g and 100 g of all bran. I don't eat bread pasta or potatoes i mainly eat meat fruit veg and neutral yogurt. Thanks for asking

Hi sucre bleu. I am from Ireland I figured I am scared to try and have a happy life . I have had to deal with a lot in less than 4 years. I buried my two youngest son's, had a mild stroke, my daughter loss her un born baby and was lucky she did not die land then just for good measure I am now a diabetic . I will get back up and try my best to control this I hope. Thanks for replying this illness scares me

Lynnie you have been thru the ringer.
With everything you have had to deal with, I do not see an issue with asking for some help to establish some coping mechanisms.
Had a quick read of Irish Health Services , and hopefully you have some access to obtain help to improve your mood. Maybe that is something you should consider. I understand completely what it is like to feel like you are constantly under attack. And it sucks.
Personally I am not sure you are scared to have a happy life, you have taken the bravest steps, realizing you need assistance, and are willing to ask for it. That takes guts.

Thanks for replying this illness scares me

To have gone thru what you have, and have the resilience to fight on speak for itself. Consider the fact that you are now part of a bigger family that will support you, so stick around.
