I think you have the wrong chapI hope you had an answer too but sorry, I just have to comment on the fact that you rang 999 to ask them this question - how on earth is this a life threatening emergency, which is what the number is for? This isn't an emergency. If you are talking about a gastroscopy, which it what it sounds like, then any sedation is mild and short acting. You should have the information about what you need to do on the letter you received, failing hat, as suggested, ring them and ask. They are the right people to contact, not the overworked emergency services!
