Hi. Readings are always high in the mornings and then seem to drop as the day goes on. So my pre-lunch reading is usially 7+, pre-dinner reading is usually 6+, 2 hours post meal is usually (but not always) under 9. My average post meal readings for the last 14 days are 8.1, but that includes post breakfast readings which are usually much higher. I need to get out a calculator and work out the post lunch and dinner readings.
I'm going g to book an HBA1C test for early April to see what's really going on. My HBA1C on diagnosis 10 weeks ago was 97, so it's hopefully improved since then!

My HbA1c at diagnosis was 95 similar to yours.
Fasting average 7.6
Other readings very incomplete and biased towards the last couple of months
After breakfast 9.2
Before lunch 7.0
After lunch 8.2
Before dinner 7.1
After dinner 8.1

These gave me HbA1c of 50

Your HbA1c must have improved a lot

Afternoon. Took a break from things for a while there. I had my endoscopy on Tuesday and they said I have a gastric ulcer which might be a H. Pylori infection. They took samples. I am taking more anti-ulcer meds and two antibiotics. They said the bleeding could be contributing towards my tiredness. Hopefully be back to a near normal state soon. I've missed so many posts so "likes" to all. Getting sunny now. :)

@eddie1968 - How are you? Have you heard about your results = yet? 13lizanne was only saying a few days ago, she wondered how you were!:)

@ickihun - I'm pleased with my fasting this morning. And it is You I have to Thank for giving me the encouragement to slice the Red Leicester Cheese in "thicker" slices for my crackerwheats. :D

@eddie1968 - Oh, that is good news - you must keep up nutrition. Sorry to read you have gastric ulcers. I had that Endoscopy tube down my throat and another tube up my bottom last year to see why I am Aneamic ( I asked to be sedated) - nothing was found. Strange, but my Mother had Aneamia with her Diabetes too.

You did the hard work. Slicing Red Leicester evenly on any cracker is deservered of a WINNER post. Ha ha
Thank you my friend. :):):)

@13lizanne - A newbie asked for Info on meters, I have tagged Bluetit to post the link, as yet, no reply. Do you? Or anyone have the link for: SD code free meter? Thanks:)

@TooManyCrisps you should have breakfast - before anything else. A low carb breakfast (no carb) will settle your 8.4 down.
8.4 isn't a disaster. A little tweak needed, that's all.
Have breakfast and no heavy stress/exercise with a 2 hour test. Let me know what your meter reads. Please.
By the way, what meter are you using?

@ickihun, I use the Codefree SD which isn't the most accurate, I know, but the strips are cheap.

Today for breakfast I ate some bacon (2 small rashers) and a piece of cheddar, which was the lowest carb I could think of given that we'd run out of eggs. Plus a cup of black coffee. Then I drove to work, office was quiet with no major issues going on, so a relatively stressfree morning. Tested at 2 hours and it was 8.7. All readings after that were lower than yesterday, I ate the same lunch as yesterday and the pre and post lunch readings were 7.7 then 7.4.
Tested before dinner, and it was 5.8, lowest it's been for a while. I ate a fairly standard meal of 1 chicken thigh (roasted) with some cauliflower and cabbage stir fried with half a yellow pepper. Then I had an hour of pottering before going to the gym for a cardio session. Came back from that and the reading (2 hours 20 minutes after eating dinner) was 9.1. Not sure if it was the dinner that pushed it up (I eat that meal quite regularly and it doesn't usually spike me) or the exercise (which sometimes raises my readings).

I wouldn't mind so much if I could identify a pattern, because then I could address it. But there doesn't seem to be one.

Hello @mo53 - Just been busy doing stuff. What you been up to? = Swimming your lengths OR Gardening - or Both? Sun came out at lunch time but it was a wee bit cold. You'll sleep like a baby tonight, as you were up rather early. What happened to your fasting this morning!!:)

Thanks for this, @Hiitsme, it gives me hope that my next HBA1C will be lower. I have also lost 1 stone 5lbs since diagnosis which hopefully will have lowered my blood pressure as it was on the edge of too high. My BMI is now just over 26 I think (my maths is awful), but I'd like it to be 22. However, the main priority is the blood sugars.
