I purchased the 1pack from millermedicalsupplies.com
a1cnow-hba1c-and-diabetes-monitoring-10-test-kit-4845

It costs including VAT £138.00 for 10 tests
This is great value for money as the home version that contains 2 tests and costs £58.00

Item was out of stock (usa/Canada?) so I had to wait about 2 weeks but when they came in...
miller shipped it next day before 9am (The product had cooling pads wrapped around the product - nice)

if stored in a refrigerated storage at 3-8C the 10 pack has a use by date on the box (in my case 1 year - 1/5/2017)
if stored at room temperature the tests are valid for 120 days

it was very easy to use with a graphical walkthrough chart and I would say its just as easy as a normal glucose test and uses the same amount of blood

For reason I cant go into now I have to use home testing so I cant calibrate results but below gives indication of my LCHF diet

22/04/2016 AC1NOW+ 5.9%
09/07/2014 Doctors (nerve damage) 6.4%
27/09/2013 Preventicum Clinic 7.7%
02/07/2013 Spire Alexandra Clinic 8.8% Started LCHF after this

Well I'm happy with the product and will uses it and discus with doctors next time.

I think @AndBreathe had some of these and did calibrate them.

Er confused lol, this is a at home kit for testing your hba1c ?

The hba1c tests a 3 month period, would not this mean you would only use 4 before they are out of date ?

No 3 month period is ring-fenced. In theory, testing monthly, say, should someone want to do that would show them their rolling 2-3 month scores. Close to diagnosis, in particular, that could show progressing improvement (or decline), and further out, it could demonstrate a consistent level (or otherwise).

The pack of 10 I had had a longer shelf life than a year, and I actually ended up giving a couple of a diabetic friend when I was about to come overseas, as I couldn't be bothered to leave a fridge on at home to store them.

We each make our choices in our approaches.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the reader does not store any details, and the samples are applied to wholly disposable components, so it would be possible to share the tests within a group of friends (subject the the reader and testing components being transported around.

The reader is matched to the batch of tests, so it is disposable, once each pack of tests is complete, so there is nothing to be gained by hanging onto anything at the end of the pack.

Cheers for clearing that up , I thought that might be the case but was unsure, just had a look on utube , I like it , certainly better than the dreaded needle ( took 4 tries last time) :(

I wonder why the surgeries dont have anything like this, I have to find an appointment for bloods then return a week or so later, it would save them and us time if you could do it in one go with the doc and discuss the results then and there.
