From bad to worse

If reducing fat can reduce insulin then it's a win win
Yes @Kristin251 I agree. I'm off to reduce my dairy and I'll see how I go. I'm desperate for a winning formula for me.
I had it in november but now wondering if my mixed insulin needs changing. Seeing nd on wednesday. Fingers crossed I'll get some answers. :)

Good luck!
Sorry to be the bearer or bad news but dairy is tricky. If you are intolerant ( and loads of people are and don't know it) reducing isn't enough. It requires complete elimination. Stinks I know....I love all dairy but I don't eat it. It also raise my bs more than other fats so maybe you will be able to reduce insulin just by eliminating dairy.

I have my toes crossed for you too. Haha

Thanks for these bits of info. I've been messing around with what I eat for a few weeks, keeping carb as low as I can as the effects are obvious, but messing about with fat, mainly in the form of eating full fat yoghurt rather than the 0% Greek stuff which is OK, just not the same.

I've noticed some very strange BG readings, like yesterday. I've been also trying the 5:2 thing and yesterday I had 150gms breakfast, no lunch (took dad to hospital appointment, not a lot of time after 1 hr drive to get him, 1 hr to hospital, 2 hrs in hospital, 1 hr back from hospital, 2 hrs home (M25 a *&%$!!), tested when I got home after eating very little since 8 pm previous day, 10.8, where did that come from?

I will cut the dairy, difficult as you say, but I managed cutting a lot, so what the heck. Also, the nutritionist that I've consulted has suggested cutting dairy as it has helped some of her other clients, mainly to lose weight but .......

Watch this space.

When I fast my liver kicks out, leaving me with higher bgs. Nibbling on low carbs make a huge difference to my bgs.

I will spike in the morning if I don't eat but I will stay steady all day after that but that is a large spike . 150 grams of what?

I sound like a broken record but do you like avocado/guac? I smash one with sea salt and eat a little at each meal or a few bites with celery sticks as a snack. It does nothing to my BS. It is my number 1 staple. Might be a good way to replace dairy. The thing with dairy is the protein molecule. Just like gluten. If your baby recognizes it it will rebell. That's why you can't even have a little. It's like a little heroin or a lot, it's still heroin and would still keep the addiction going. I know lots of people who ditched all dairy and lost 8# s in one week. That is all inflammatory water weight but gets the weight moving and reducing inflammation is always a good thing. Might be worth a two week trial. Just an FYI, it can give you similar side effects to the low carb flu for a few days. The worse that is the more dairy effects you and should be kicked to the curb IMO

Sorry about that, I meant to correct it and then forgot. I had yoghurt for breakfast. I usually have 100 gms but I was a pig with the one with ginger in it. I usually have the the "no added sugar" yoghurt but was having a "full fat" "treat".

What was your bs before eating it? I only ask because I know for a fact even a small bite of cheese raises me far more than it should.
