i am definately seeing a pattern of my BS rising after I shower. Stays steady until I shower then pops up about 20-25 but then returns to fasting or at least close by lunch.
I'm not sure if it's the hot water or activity. Which ever it can't be avoided as I will continue to shower haha
I'm just curious If this just me or anyone else see this?

I'd be willing to bet it's probably just the time of day and a coincidence that you shower around that time. I often shower twice a day and have noticed no relationship with my blood glucose levels.

Usually hot water is thought to lower blood sugar, I think because it warms up your skin, you inject into your skin so it speeds up absorption of any insulin that might be lingering sub cu.

Maybe it is just coincidence. But equally, it could just be you - we are all weird, in our own special way, this reaction to hot water could be one of yours! Even saying that, you've only had 3 responses, so wait & see... :pompous:

There was another discussion about this very recently.

I used to believe the rise I saw was due to activity prior to my bath rather than the bath itself, but having checked it's definitely the hot water that does it for me...

Activity can push up BYe if not careful. Though hot steam or sauna can too, but you're talking about showers Lol. I've never had trouble with showering after activity & I go gym regularly. @Robity has it right as I'm concerned!!

It is a pretty commonly noticed consequence of showering, especially if you shower during a period when there are still lingering effects from the dawn phenomenon. I noticed it independently, then went looking & it is reported by lots of people.

I have not experimented to see if it also impacts evening showers. (I don't take insulin, so it is not a side effect of insulin.)

Great posts. My BS stays very steady until I shower. I wondered if it was activity but no matter when I shower it goes up and I stay steady until then. I know heat can lower you. It does seem the earlier I shower the lower I will be at lunch but still pop up after shower.

Originally it just seemed to be around 11 am, and I normally shower around 10 But during the weekend if I showered later it went up later . Early week day showers it was sooner. So I thought of DF but testing more recently I think it is the shower. However if I shower closer to injections I seem to come down lower before lunch. It definatley seems related to hot water based on timing.

BS IS CRAZY.
