Type 2 Life

@eldergarth and @tina_marie and @Russetfox Great job well done.

Had my pre admission examination at Queens hospital today all the usual height weight blood pressure ECG bloods drawn then the nurse decided to check my blood sugars no go unfortunately she had misplaced her glucose meter and could not find it. I said don't worry I check regularly and told her what is had been earlier.

She showed me the stents that would be grafted next week they are a lot larger than I had thought they would be. Doctors wont decide till next week if general anaesthesia or spinal if spinal then could be home in a couple of days if ICU not required. I did suggest that if they put an outside door in the theatre they could just roll people off the operating table straight into the car park thus getting them out even quicker.

Oh yes a little extra the hospital is plastered with pictures of the Eat Well Plate that doesn't bode well if I do have to spend some time there.
@JohnEGreen wish you well and hope for a quick visit... the food thing don't sound good.

4.7 am
which is good, though slightly surprised again.
Was not in a good mood last night, work late and cook my supper at work, lemon sole and salad, lovely but... couple of spanners at work and my pre supper test was 5.4, which is high for my pre.... 5.7 2 hours after....
Not a good sleep, shoulder really giving me pain first thing, just have to get up and get on..
nother late shift tonight.
Going to take son swimming this morning and beat the water senseless.... that should do it.
Hope your day is good.

I would love it if all my pre meal readings were as low as 5.4. I'm envious! Are you taking any medication?
I hope your shoulder is better soon.

No meds yet, D & E seems to be working for me.
Shoulder: need to get to see the physio again... just organizing it seems to be beyond me... and then there is the eye test, which I really really should do... :arghh:... the vision thing is not quite as sharp was it was....
Thanks for the wishes. ;)

'Morning, peeps! It's another gorgeous morning in South Gloucestershire again today - all misty blue skies, golden sunshine and birdsong. I just adore the Spring - it seems so full of hope and the promise of good things/times to come, as well as being incredibly pretty after a long, grey winter.
Hopping in the shower now, then more chocolate chia pudding for breakfast (true to form, I'm getting hooked on that - s'chocolate innit?!!), then off to the garden centre for a lovely, self-indulgent browse through the baby bedding plants. I plan to get good and grubby this afternoon! :joyful:
I hope everyone has a lovely day today - especially @GeoffersTaylor and @Russetfox on their birthdays! Looking forward to caching up with you all later x
:)

I want to hear the empathy as I haven't as much sniffed a piece of chocky in 20 years as I profoundly allergic to it....and still after all those years I can remember the taste of lovely, creamy Galaxy :)
That's terrible! I'm profoundly addicted to chocolate, but to be allergic to it would be my idea of hell on earth. :(
Hugs x

Morning Folks, another lovely Kentish Day here.

6.4 this morning And pleased to report that I have had no readings over a 7.0 for well over a week now so fingers crossed we have passed into the morning 6's now.

Interesting day yesterday, I had a an odd rash for a few days so Poppel up to my village pharmacist (far more use than the Doctor....ahem!) She prescribed some Antihistemine that meant I spent most of the afternoon shivering under a blanket with my BS at a low to mid 4, a few cups of tea with milk brought me back into the 5s but I did feel a wee bit off! I am laying off them this morning as I have to drive but will take another one at lunchtime and see what happens.

Just about to eat my boiled egg breakfast And then off to the Gym.

Hope you all have a good day And @PenfoldAPD all I wil say is best of luck with your mission to enthuse!

Yay. FBG at 5.0 today - good control = BG. Pleased that good diet (LCHF and loving it!) and upping my swimming to 30 minutes every day is having a good effect, no readings over 6.0 yesterday.

Even had Oppo ice cream around 9pm. Going to week 4 of my self management diabetes course today - will take the rest of my Lemon Cake to show those requiring encouragement (let's leave it at that ;)) that you can have your cake and eat it!

Off to the pool .. well, when it opens.
Very proud of you @PenfoldAPD . Our scorcher of a weekend is nearing. Ice cream low carb will be ideal too! Enjoy. :)

Morning all, looks like being another bright and sunny day today - seeing my lovely practice nurse this morning to check my weight and blood pressure. My scales say I've lost another pound and I was 6.5 this morning so I'm a happy bunny :)

Apparently there is a new one (got it in heart foundation email yesterday. Still looks 1/3 carbs tho. Didn't read it closely tho

Stay with that memory, a taste now might severely disappoint.... and make you extremely ill with your allergy

A 5-4 before brekky.
Isn't 45g granola a small, teeny Sweeny, amount. Eating it in a tiny bowl with a teaspoon and chewing slowly. LOVE granola and got these less than half shop price. At one time I must've had 3x this amount

I wonder if you'll spike?
I've had eggy bread (protein roll with seeded top cut off first). It was very very tasty. Will have that again but in a few weeks time. I've never been a big bread eater. Pasta was my love!
Betterware now doing spiralizer too. Courgetti still in the plan for me. I might try m&s one first before buying more kitchen gadgets.

@tina_marie did you not want him to have inoculation, why? I had one some years ago and had no problems. Is there a problem with them? Vicky :)
No it wasn't that ,what with everything that has been going on I just wanted him to wait and see the doctor about his x ray in case the side effect or the injection made his hips worse . You never can tell with these things. The nurse said it wouldn't so he had it done I still wanted him to wait. I was thinking how does she know it wouldn't have any effect on him all people react differently as I don't trust medical people one bit. I always question everything .
