Type 2 Life

Hi don't know if any of you have suffered with wind/gas/bloating (excuse me) since being diabetic but I've started having this problem, spoke to pharmacist to day who recommended rennie deflatine sugar free mint flavour tablets, £4.65 I think I paid for 36 tablets so hope they work, she was very nice, said lots of diabetics suffer with wind cos of meds & diet and these are sugar free, so hopefully I can get rid of the bloating ext. had hypo today, feel lousy continual headaches with this eye. Hope your all well

@debrasue - @KevinPotts - Hi:). Like the Gardenfile thread you began - brilliant pictures. The Naturefile I just set up for everybody to use for wild life, birds etc and it was nice to see that other members were using it, so it did not come to a sudden halt.:)

@maureen5752 & @Sable_Jan - Hi Girls:). Just to say went shopping and into Superdrug they sell CANESOASIS at £5.49 , their own brand is £3.99 and Home Bargains sell CYSTOCALM at 89p - I checked all boxes and the contents/ingredients are all the same, 6 sachets, Cranberry flavour, so I bought the cheapest from Home Bargains and going to try it and see! Will let you know my results after experimenting.:)
Great news! Hope you feel better soon, thrush is awful I had it for three months last year!! Once this year! We poor diabetics do suffer. Glad you found the sachets, hope they do you good, drink lots of water to flush it out. Take care (hug) hope your partner is well

A lot of home brand stuff is just as good if not better, why pay exspensive just for the name, wish you well liam

Forgot to say: I bought some cartons of Cranberry Juice too from the Supermarket - but will have to dilute it a little because of sugar content.:) Thanks @maureen5752 - it's not us really, it's the sugar that gives us these problems. Hope you are feeling good too? Big HUGS to You. :) Next time you see your GP mention about the bloating/gas/wind and see if you can get something prescribed for you?

Good Afternoon, my friends on www.diabetes.co.uk type 2 life forum,

I haven't been feeling mentally very healthy with my schizophrenia that runs alongside the asperger syndrome and adhd, having disturbing hallucinations, paranoid delusions and thought disorder as well as attempts of deliberate self harm. Alotof this hasbeen building up in me over a period of time and a good friend had to take me to a and e at my local hospital last night. a very nice psychiatric nurse assessed me and made me a cup of tea and offered me a sandwich. they didn't hospitalise me because of pronounced vulnerability issues in my AS and ADHD so the psychiatric nurse submitted a report by email to my care coordinator.

My carer brought my shopping and I ate one bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes with semi skimmed milk and just now I've drunk one mug of coffee with 1 x 5 ml spoonful of red mountain coffee granules, 3 Silver Spoon 0 calories artificial sweetener tablets and a splash of semi skimmed milk. My blood sugar just now at 3:52 pm was 5.7.

Have a lovely evening, my beautiful friends.
Wish you well, hope you improve soon, sorry to hear you've been unwell, take care, I know a couple of people who have similar problems, so I wish you the very best of luck (hugs)

@13lizanne - Anna, Hello my lovely and did you regain your health whilst away and enjoy your spell away with Hubby? Have you got loads of stunning photos of places you visited?:)

I LOVE the Naturefile thread - in fact, this afternoon I've been hunting out a couple more pictures I'd like to post on there....

I think I should try these - I'm beginning to find social events a tad challenging, if you know what I mean!!!

Hello to you William, I do feel much better, thanks for asking, but still have tightness in chest and still blowing my nose every few mins. The holiday was just what was needed, lots of reading and relaxation. Gentle walks instead of the planned hikes but we both feel the better for our week away. We do have some good photos and no 1 son installed the updated software we needed today so, some scenic photos coming up on naturefile. Our garden is bursting out all over -we saw a big change from last week when we left, so hubby is out grass cutting for us and for our 93yr old neighbour

@doolallylady - How are you Karen:cat: Are you still having problems with logging on this site? Munching your way through fruit now? I bought a jar of Morello Cherries today so we can eat them with Greek Yoghurt after our dinner. Only had a salad for our dinner, and R has gone in the garden for an hour.:)

That's my problem! Started to be a recluse. Good luck. I've just taken one. If they work then worth paying good luck.

They are absolutely gorgeous - one minute in the microwave on full to defrost 'em and I could eat the whole bagful!!! (I don't... but I COULD!)
:hungry:

Amazingly, my pre-supper reading was a respectable 5.9. This was after the monthly debacle at the pharmacy (Bank Holiday back log being blamed for my prescription not being sorted for the second day running.) and the 40th phone call in the current utility bill saga. I'm going to take my bad temper out on some housework as I succumbed to toast and a banana!

@debrasue - Thanks for that about the Cherries. They are a good price too. If you know anyone who suffers with Gout? Tell them to eat cherries and/or drink cherry juice.:)

Oh @maureen5752 bless you. I feel your problem. I thought it was due to one of my meds. Well actually I'm feeling loads better today without that said tablet. William suffered with it too.
What medication for diabetes do you take?
I remember on metformin i was having to use gaviscon liquid everyday. Actually until i started lchf.
When I'm being strict with lchf I feel very much less windy/bloated.
I don't know about everyone else?

Good evening everyone. I had my retinal eye screening a few weeks ago and arrived home today to find a letter from my local eye hospital. I have been refered to them and have an appointment in 4 weeks on 6th June as they have found changes to the blood vessels behind my eyes

Really? I didn't know that - my husband suffers from gout!
(He ain't having any of my cherries, though!! :sour: I'll get him some juice...lol)

Oh, great - so they leave you to worry for the next 4 weeks about what sort of changes they found. How thoughtful. :grumpy:
Hugs x

Tell me about it diabetic maculopathy it says in the letter @debrasue, changes to the blood vessels on the macula. I am hoping it is something and nothing just generally trying to be positive and hoping for the best. There has been no real change in my sight over the past year as the prescription for my lenses in my glasses are still the same as I had the option of keeping the same glasses or having a new pair, which I take as a positive.
