On a day when my diabetes monster is behaving and I've not "got my snack on" I have 4-5 injections a day.
When the monster is rampaging the hills and my sugars have a mind of their own (thanks lady hormones ) I can wind up doing 8 or even more injections a day
Make sure you make full use of all your injection sites and rotate and don't re-use needles as they go a bit pants after one use.
Apparently neuropathy pains can sometimes improve if blood sugars are brought under control. Have you been prescribed medication for your neuropathy?
Hopefully someone with experience in this area will come along with advice...
Hi. We all vary. I typically have 3 injections daily. I don't split the basal as for me I don't see the need. I don't bolus for breakfast as its very low-carb and I my bolus ratio for the evening dinner takes account of the basal running out. I occasionally do a correction bolus. So you need to decide how many injections you really need and whether they bother you or not.
Hi,i usually have around 5, basal twice a day, and quick acting whenever I eat carbs, breakfast, lunch, and tea (and maybe the odd correction)
sorry to hear you're struggling with the neuropathy
Hiya, I'm on minimum of 5, plus extras for snacks or corrections.
Is the neuropathy in your hands? Is it causing problems with your dexterity and actually being able to do the injections? I'm not aware of anything myself, but you never know there might be someone on here who has similar/arthritis and might be able to suggest solutions with aids to help with the injections.
no the neuropathy is in both legs particularly the right one I can't walk more than 2 feet
without severe pain it's literaly putting me in a wheelchair because I cannot manage the pain .
