Hey I'm sure your docs have tried the main stream pharmaceuticals. Main ones that aid with nerve pain are:
Amitryptaline
Gabapentin
Pregabalin

The last two usually start on low doses and then build up according to tolerance and needs.
Amitryptaline can start lower too but generally it's known as an antidepressant but has been proven to be effective for nerve pain

Hooe this helps. If not have you thought of acupuncture? I have it for occipital neuralgia (also nerve pain) and it's the best thing I've done. Though I still take a low maintenance dose of Gabapentin to aid in minimising it the accipuncture seems to be the only thing that truly relieves it for a few weeks

I have type 2 diabetes along with Addison's disease, migraines, fibromyalgia, m.e /cfs,osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and around 18 other conditions. I was on 1200mg a day of pregablin and put ova 5 stone In 2 yrs on them. They are the most notorious drug iv ever known for weight gain. I went from 12 st to 18stone + and now I'm in a situation where my weight makes all my joins pain so bad that I'm bedbound most the v90time with absolutely NO appetite Eva. The only thing that I can eat is vio-life dairy n lactose free cheese n ham which is soo yummy especially in crackers. I guess Wat I'm saying is that food us not our only enemy for weight gain. Our additional medication is the worst culprit.

Question is why you have nerve damage. If it's due to high blood glucose then that needs to seen to but there are quite a few other conditions that can cause nerve damage apart from diabetes, pernicious anaemia for example.

Hello. I also have peripheral neuropathy in my feet and legs and have tried most drugs all which had bad side affects, until I read a newspaper article from a Pain specialist who said that using Duloxitin and pregabalin together would help. I had tried both on their own but had stopped both because of side affects, but had a word with my doc who agreed to try this method and put me on lower doses of the two drugs, miraculously this worked for the last eighteen months until recently with no side affects. Unfortunately the pain has suddenly returned and I am going to the Doctors to see if the doses can be increased. It is definetly worth a try. All the best.

I have been low carbing for 6 months, results below. I'm also taking a whole load of supplements, including high dose alpha lipoic acid (900-1200 mg per day). I am convinced the numbness in my toes and side of my leg has improved. This has been licensed for neuropathy in Germany since the 1960's, so worth a try. Solgar 600mg tablets are the best.
