Hi there all, tested on wake up, 7.1.......I had 2 x boiled eggs, slice of wholemeal bread and porridge for breakfast and tested 2 hours later @16.2.....whats going on?

You are probably one of the unfortunate ones whose bloods do not like porridge and/or the wholemeal bread.

:(

A lot of diabetic cannot eat those foods .... I am tagging @daisy1 who will probably be kind enough to post a lot of information for you

Thank you.....like a dummy i also forgot to take my metformin and gliclizide after breakfast

Both porridge and wholemeal bread are high in carbs. Was your porridge made with milk? Milk contains sugar. Carbs turn to glucose once inside the system, so this is most likely the reason. I would try the porridge again without the bread and see what happens. If you still see a big rise, cut down the portion size, or eliminate it and change your breakfast. Eggs cooked any which way is a good choice.

For some reason though I take my Glic before I start eating and my Metf during my meal
