Diabetic Socks

I have diabetes and I would be interested to know your opinion on diabetic socks:
  • do you wear diabetic socks?
  • what type?
  • how much do you spend on them per annum?
  • Do you think socks containing antimicrobial material are beneficial?
  • Do you wear socks overnight?
  • Do your feet sweat?
I also would like to know if you use antimicrobial soap to clean your feet?

I'm not wearing any socks.
I wear them when I have cold feet.
My feet get washed because the shower runs down onto them, more than anything.
I don't dry them either.
I wouldn't buy any antimicrobial socks, but there may be a market somewhere.
'Diabetic' socks are designed more to promote circulation to the feet, so the weave and elastication is important.
I pay as little as possible for socks, and then usually trainer socks.
I always buy the same colour, so I never have odd ones.

It is refreshing that for once the eighth question isn't "How much would you pay for socks with diabetic written on them".

I am taking you at your word that this is a genuine enquiry and not an attempt to sell something.
It is quite a specific first post for anybody with Diabetes.

I wear soft top socks ( no elastication on the ankle) - and have done for 40+ years
I don't pay over the odds for them ( look at amazon ebay etc etc )
I never wear socks to bed

I have never asked my socks if they have diabetes, so sorry can't help you. :p
 
I was told by my podiatrist not to wear tight socks and opt for trainer socks, although currently I'm still sporting TED Stockings since Tueday, until I'm fully mobile again.
 
I wear soft top socks ( no elastication on the ankle) - and have done for 25 years .. I have seen these socks advertised as diabetic socks .. I only wear then due to my heart bypass scar that runs down to my ankle where they took the vein from, tight topped stocks hurt the scar.
I would not wear so called diabetic stocks,
