I agree. That includes not moaning about austerity measures as we try to reduce our deficit. It includes not striking for pay increases that employers can't afford to pay. I'm happy with that. That's how a household should be run, only spending what it can afford.
Yes I totally agree and according to some remain supporters they won't be able to work / study in Europe, so yes, where are they going to go?
What is wrong with home?No where, they are going to have to stay at home....
How is moving to a Scottish University going to help them?I know a fair few whose kids are already looking at transferring from english universities to scottish ones, if the course has over two years left, and other's that are planning to emigrate now when they finish, some to the EU, some to Canada.
I am seriously considering moving my UK address over the border into scotland as well.
lolol that was a bit below the belt!Agreed. I believe your last sentence is something Margaret Thatcher once said.![]()
What is wrong with home?
If it's not the way you want it. Change it. So you do!
I have and much much happier. It needs tweaking but will never be the finished article.
My vision is 3D and 4D depending on my mood. I know what makes me content and no longer forever searching for what was right under my nose!
But that is just supposition, you don't know that will be the case. Anyway, Europe is not the only place to study. There are a number of EU bodies that support young UK scientists to work / get experience in European labs, which the UK will now be excluded from. This is a real bummer, as getting a varied post-doc CV is now an essential for anyone wanting to climb the ladder.
It will work both ways, EU researchers will find it much harder to get places in UK labs..
It's certainly not good for science and I think science was one group that were/are very remain.
I feel for the young.... just glad I'm through that period.
Do you think the top German labs will turn down top UK talent? Again, you dont know what will happen. There will be ways and means around these things. After all, people used to study abroad before the EU.There is nothing wrong about home.
It is a matter of choice.
When you are young you get to choose what you want to do. For the last 40 odd years if you wanted to go to University, or what ever, in Europe it was a lot easier than it is going to be.
If you want to a PhD or a Post-doc in a top German lab, for example, there were funds available to support you.
Not now.
It is going to be bad for UK Science.

Do you ignore your families needs for the neighbours?
Well, i wouldnt.
Sort your families needs first. That's all im saying.
London's needs is not the same as the rest of the uks.
You have decent people up north who are ignored for the neighbours. That will never be right in my book.
Sorry if that upsets people. That is not my intention.
A vision which is 2D isnt the full picture.
